In my styling capacity I pride myself on knowing what shapes and silhouettes look best on people, but I can't help breaking my own rules sometimes. Despite being acutely aware that I better suit styles fitted on the waist it gets a bit boring wearing the same thing all the time (I'm no slave to Trinny & Susannah)! I've been drawn towards shift and trapeze shapes at the moment (chasing a 'contemporary' look plus wanting loose fitting clothes in the warm weather) so have been experimenting with how to make them work on my figure. So far have sussed that I need a bit of shape up top and not too much length to get away with it!
wearing:
top - zara
skirt - carly hunter
collar - cut off an op shop shirt
shoes - demonia
bag - furla
earrings - vintage

I love this, you look super kawaii
I love that Carly Hunter collection, my favourite of hers. I still dream of the giant polka dots. Your skirt is great, so jealous of it.
Love this – and I think this silhouette looks great on you! Love the collar idea, too – I've been meaning to do that but never find the perfect one!
This silhouette looks great on you!! You know how to pull an outfit together and I think that makes all the difference!! Cute as miss!! :)
Love love your outfit, well your style in general :)

I really like this silhouette on you. I think it looks really good in a different way to waist-emphasis. Very cute outfit.
Love this outfit! It's interesting how difficult it can be to embrace an alternative silhouette. I have an hourglassy figure and I find I have to push myself to break away from the 'DEFINE THE WAIST' mantra that goes with it.
