A tried&true styling trick that has served me well over the years:

evening dress + tshirt = day appropriate outfit.

ALTHOUGH, saying that, I am the type of person who is far more likely to dress up during the day than at night, so it's not like I have a huge arsenal of short, spangled numbers...I have a (fairly rational, I think) fear of looking like one of the millions of clone-girls who stumble around on Saturday nights in tiny tight things and enormous heels regardless of the weather (whom, I am not ashamed to admit, I judge. Relentlessly.), so it would have to be a pretty special occasion for me to be rocking this frock solo. I'm sure Mr. Bigeni doesn't mind.

dress - gary bigeni (who I don't think I've ever mentioned but is one of my favourite designers EVER. The man is a living legend.)
t - alternative apparel
boots - acne
clutch - vintage
eyes necklace - triskaidekaphobia
captain necklace -
blue necklace - vintage, DIY'd

Love this look so much! I like the knotted tee against the drape of the dress, really nice idea! :)

I judge them too. P.S., love the dress, off to google and fawn now.

I love that Captain necklace it's so quirky cool!
I'm a huge judger too. I live on a main street in the city centre and I spend many an hour judging them out of the windows from the safety of the fourth floor :)

What a babe! I might use this trick to get more wear out of my own Gary dress. You hair is looking so good right now - making me want to cut my fringe back soooo much!! x

May just use this idea in the near future. I have an silk evening skirt I'd love to wear more and yet I've never considered pairing it with a t-shirt. Perfect!

Love it! I have a small crate full of vintage 30s gowns I don't wear and you've now inspired me.
On another note - Alternative Apparel make excellent t-shirts don't they.

I am a relentless judger of those girls too. I just can't help it! I always want to put jumpers on them in Winter. I love your t-shirt + dress outfits. I can never seem to replicate the way you knot your t-shirts!
