Velvet Lane, one of Australia's best boutiques (in my humble - great brand mix, one of the few stockists of both Romance was Born AND House of Holland, yes please), have teamed up with Shine by Three blogger Margaret Zhang to give away one of the standout pieces from Josh Goot's current resort collection: the Reptile Racer Back Dress. Having seen a fair bit of this collection in person I can attest that it is a beautiful thing. The prints are smashing, the bonded neoprene fabric is exciting (if you're a textile nerd like me), the structure is flattering and best of all everything is made in Australia - nice one, Josh Goot!
I got a bit over excited at the prospect of styling this dress - Margaret rightly mentions that it could very easily fall into the trap of being a one-night-only stunner - so much so that I decided that really, REALLY, to get ample wear out of it I'd actually destroy it. Yep, I'd cut it in half - goodbye dress, hello amazing skirt and top. Not sure that Mr. Goot would approve, but I've never been one to shy away from doing my own thing, and it wouldn't be the first designer dress I've altered to suit my needs. Imagine the possibilities! So. If I were to get my hot little hands on this amazing dress, this is how I'd start to wear it.
Life With Bird tank, Megan Park clutch, Haeli van Veen tattoo brooches, DiCo Copenhagen sandals all from Velvet Lane
House of Holland skirt, Philippe Audibert cuffs, Karen Walker sunglasses all from Velvet Lane (& my own Melissa shoes, let's not be greedy now)
How would you wear it?? Go tell Margaret & the Velvet Lane team to enter!
