chop! in the name of love

You may recall my rather controversial entry in a competition held by Shine by Three & Velvet Lane boutique a little while ago? Well, maties, being creative will evidently get you, if not everywhere, at least a rather fabulous Josh Goot dress and - true to my word - I've committed fashion hara-kiri and chopped the thing in half.

Shock value aside (I'll admit there was a slight  'what the hell have I done?!' moment when I put the scissors down) there is method to the madness -  I knew the length as it was wouldn't suit me, not to mention the fact that I already HAVE a formal-occasion-only Josh Goot dress...My attitude to dress is that beautiful things are there to be worn, so I've given myself three opportunities to do so. One can't be too precious about clothing - respectful and knowledgeable about how to care for it, yes - but if you always save-for-best you won't have enough fabulous in your life, and I DO rather enjoy fabulous.

So. One Goot, three ways.

TOP, wearing with:
tank - saba
jeans - levis
boots - acne
belt - op shop

DRESS, wearing with:
sunnies - colony x alice euphemia
heels - givenchy
ankle cuff - diy

SKIRT, wearing with:
layered tanks - willow
sneakers - converse
earrings - capnmueller

AWESOME! I love this decision. Wear it as much as you can, in so many ways... too good. I would have freaked too, upon wielding scissors, but totally love these results and your styling choices.

Too cool.

despite how gorgeous the dress 'was' and it being josh goot you definitely are killing it! in a good way :) the top version of your ex dress is freaking incredible and you will be able to wear it so much.
thumbs up!

Congrats on winning the dress! :)

You're very brave to cut it up, but it does look even more wearable and easy to style now that you have :)

That really does look amazing. You can barely tell it is two pieces when you wore it again as a dress. A brave risk that really paid off!

If you've got the skills, I say use them! Like that you layered the top, Goot's racer back cuts can be tricky for daytime.

Ahhhh I remember wanting to enter the competition but knowing I would never wear it. You are seriously so brave and it definitely paid off
