Nothing makes me happier than seeing people finding their niche - I met Katia while studying fashion at RMIT and was (selfishly) most upset when she left after first year to pursue jewellery design but I can absolutely see why. Her work is both ethereal and almost futuristically punchy, capturing delicate elements inside resin and offsetting them with strong metalwork. Her studio space, in Melbourne's beautiful Nicholas building, is just like her - delightful and full of impeccable contradictory style.
