trans-disciplinary practice

Consciously or otherwise, many of us turn to trans-disciplanary practice in an attempt to balance our wants and needs with those of the world around us. The concept of a life with many facets isn't a new one (I don't have to look beyond my family to see a grandfather who was a farmer, in the airforce & worked in law, or a granny who was a sculptor, puppeteer & horticulturist) but is particularly relevant in the changing creative fields.

RMIT design student Amy Kreitals has put together an online zine entitled 'practice' that probes the way people in different fields approach their crafts - I answered some questions for the inaugural issue, and have found the other interviews insightful. Add to reading list.
